Hong Kong surprised us with stunning views from skyscrapers that guarded the skies, lush greenery and white sands from bus rides into the mountains (Shek-O beach was cool), friendly and helpful people, and sanctuaries of water in vast parks (we liked Hong Kong and Victoria Parks) that helped us cool down from the heat. In the few days that we explored this exciting city, we experienced every transport available: cute trams, ferries, buses, the subway and taxis. We tried to walk a lot, but realised locals use an underground system of walkways to escape the heat, fumes and traffic, and so we followed their guide!
